Goya lemon tree
The Meyer lemon tree from Mr Goya had scale. Its been growing better, but not fully recovered. I had been sprayed it twice with diluted dishwater soap. On May 29th I sprayed it with mineral oil that I bought at Marina Garden Center. Then today, June 3rd I put worm casings (Marina Garden Center) and citrus fertilizer in the ground and covered it with acid loving potting mix (from the one and only Coco PJ). Coco PJ helped me take blossoms and small lemons off as well. Its loaded with lemons now with one large one that is partially yellow. The tree is definitely much happier. I will spray it again with the mineral oil after one week has passed.
Goya Lettuce Seeds
The lettuce is getting really tall, and the yellow flowers are closing up, but the seeds are not ready to harvest yet. The first two photos are from a little over a week ago, before it started to flower and the last few photos are from today.
Planting Beans, Nasturtium and Chard
Yamaguchi's doesn't carry Gardeners Gold anymore, but the Marina Garden Center does. I got the Fox Farm Ocean Forest Potting Soil and Master Nursery Bumper Crop, three bags of each. It took a little over two bags of each to almost fill one container. I have 1 1/2 bags of Bumper Crop left and 1 bag of the Potting Soil. The Ocean Forest was expensive, $15 a bag and the Bumper Crop was about $7 a bag.
Dirt
I'm off to Yamaguchi to buy 1/2 Gardners Gold and 1/2 Fox Farm Ocean Forest to mix for container soil.
Today I clipped back the trumpet vine to keep it away from overhead wires.
On Friday I got plants at the farmers market - 1 scarlet runner bean, 3 "italian" beans, 1 "french" bean and 1 nasturtium and two six packs of rainbow chard.
We ate the last of the lettuce today. Mr Goya's lettuce that I let bolt is still producing more flowers and seeds, but the seeds are not ready to harvest yet.

Juliet Tomato
Planted mid May 2012. The Juliet tomato plant is from the farmers market. It is growing fast with lots of flowers and some still green tomatoes.
Peas and radishes and one cucumber
Planted May 30th, 2012. Coco PJ shared these plants from her garden. She planted them from seed and these are the ones she thinned out. They got a bit too much sun the first day, but doing all right now. I put bokashi compost in a middle layer in the container two days before, so it was mostly but not completely disintegrated. The one cucumber had the hardest time with the sun.
